eSIM Keeps Disconnecting or Dropping Signal?
Intermittent eSIM drops are usually caused by automatic carrier switching, low signal areas, or a misconfigured preferred network mode. Here's how to stabilise your connection.

LTE.app Smart Coach β automatic diagnosis
Smart Coach checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically β no data needed. Open the app and tap Smart Coach to fix most issues in under 60 seconds.
Step-by-step fixes
1
Lock your phone to a specific carrier manually
Automatic carrier selection causes disconnections when the phone switches between partner carriers. iOS: Settings β Cellular β Network Selection β Automatic off β select the strongest carrier. Android: Settings β Network β SIM β Network Operators β select manually.
2
Set preferred network mode to LTE/4G
If your phone is trying to use 5G and failing, it falls back through 4G, 3G, and 2G repeatedly. iOS: Settings β Cellular β tap eSIM β Voice & Data β LTE. Android: Settings β Network β Preferred Network Type β LTE/4G only.
3
Disable Wi-Fi Calling if enabled
Wi-Fi calling can interfere with eSIM data stability in some configurations. Settings β Cellular β tap eSIM β Wi-Fi Calling β Off. Test data stability after disabling.
4
Check for physical SIM interference
If a physical SIM and eSIM are both active, your phone may switch data between them unexpectedly. Try disabling the physical SIM temporarily (Settings β Cellular β physical SIM line β Turn Off Line) to confirm the eSIM works stably on its own.
5
Restart and toggle airplane mode on arrival
After moving to a new area or country, toggle airplane mode on for 30 seconds and off again. This clears stale carrier registrations that cause repeated disconnections.
6
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically β even without mobile data β and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

Why does my eSIM work for a few minutes then disconnect?
This pattern usually means automatic carrier switching β your phone keeps trying different carriers and losing registration during the switch. Locking to a single carrier manually is the fastest fix.
My eSIM drops in certain locations only. Is this coverage?
If drops are location-specific (underground, rural areas, buildings), it is coverage-related and not an eSIM issue. If drops happen everywhere, it is a settings or carrier switching issue. Smart Coach can run a diagnostic to determine which.
