Privacy Policy

LTE.app is built privacy-first. No email, no registration, no tracking. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and your rights over that data.

Overview

LTE.app is designed to be privacy-first by default. We minimize data collection, avoid unnecessary identifiers, and give you meaningful control over what is shared. This policy explains what data is processed, why, and how you can control it.

Accounts & Core Functionality

LTE.app may process limited server-side data strictly necessary to operate core features, including: • Anonymous or pseudonymous account identifiers • Device identifiers used for security, rate-limiting, and abuse prevention • Feature state (e.g., Party Pool membership, leader/member role, join approvals) • Wallet verification status (public wallet address + verification metadata) We do not sell personal data and do not use data for advertising.

Telemetry & Analytics (Opt-in)

Telemetry is disabled by default and controlled via the Anonymous Analytics toggle in Settings. If you opt in: • Collected data is minimal and anonymized • Values are bucketized (e.g., speed ranges, not exact values) • Timestamps are rounded • A rotating anonymous ID is used (auto-rotates ~30 days or when you erase data) • No precise location, Wi-Fi SSIDs, URLs, browsing history, or personal identifiers are stored • Telemetry aggregates are retained for ~90 days If Anonymous Analytics is disabled, no data is transmitted to LTE.app servers.

Speed Test Data

When you run a speed test, the following data is captured: download speed, upload speed, latency/ping, jitter, network type (eSIM or WiFi), timestamp, and platform. If Anonymous Analytics is enabled, anonymized results are contributed to aggregate statistics to improve network quality recommendations. Speed tests are categorized by network type for accurate insights. If Anonymous Analytics is disabled, speed test results remain on your device only.

Crash Reporting (Sentry)

If Anonymous Analytics is enabled, crash reports may be sent to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports include technical stack traces and device information — no personal data, messages, or browsing history is included. Reports are processed by Sentry under strict data handling agreements. If Anonymous Analytics is disabled, crash reports remain on your device and are not transmitted.

Location Services (Opt-in)

Location access is disabled by default and controlled via the Location Services toggle in Settings. When enabled, we may collect GPS coordinates, derived city name (via reverse geocoding), and country code. This data is used for auto-detecting your country when browsing eSIM plans, showing nearby WiFi hotspots, and providing location-aware travel recommendations. Location is cached locally for 5 minutes to reduce GPS requests. No location history is stored on our servers. Location data is not shared with third parties.

Payments

LTE.app uses Stripe to process payments. Payment information is handled directly by Stripe — LTE.app does not store full card numbers. Stripe may process standard fraud-prevention metadata. LTE.app stores only what is required to complete the transaction: payment status, checkout/session IDs, purchased tier or amount, and time-limited claim tokens.

Party Pool & Group Sharing

When you create or join a Party Pool (trusted group sharing), stored data may include pool ID and invite code, membership list and roles, join requests and approvals, time limits and pool status. We do not store contact lists, social graphs, precise location history, or continuous BLE identifiers. Proximity discovery uses ephemeral identifiers and is not used for location tracking.

Flash Chat & Smart Coach

Flash Chat messages are designed to be ephemeral and low-retention. If auto-translation is enabled, messages are translated using self-hosted AI models within LTE.app infrastructure — not sent to third-party translation providers. Smart Coach responses may be generated using deterministic templates, cached content, or optional AI inference. Chat messages may be temporarily processed to generate responses. We do not use chat content for advertising.

Server Logs & Security

For reliability and abuse prevention, LTE.app temporarily processes IP addresses, request metadata (timestamps, endpoints, error codes), and user-agent information. These logs are not used for tracking or advertising. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant).

Data Deletion & Control

You can disable telemetry at any time, erase local app data from Settings, leave or end Party Pools, and request account or server-side data deletion by contacting support. Some transaction records may be retained where legally required.

Third-Party Services

LTE.app may interact with Stripe (payments), exchange-rate providers, and hosting/infrastructure providers necessary to operate the service. No third party is permitted to use your data for advertising.

Children & Eligibility

LTE.app is not intended for use by children under the minimum age required by applicable law. Certain features may be restricted by region or age.

Changes

We may update this policy as features evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and noted in the app.
